The Doležal´s String quartet was established in the year 1972 by violist Karel Doležal and due to history it belongs to the oldest Czech chamber ensembles. They perform on many concerts, festivals and competitions where they reached many prices. They are laureates of the Prague spring in the year 1975, they won the 2nd price on the competition in Bordeaux and in the year 1989 they reach the price of the Czech association of chamber music by Czech Philharmonic orchestra. Doležal's quartet aroused public notice at the competition in Osaka, Japan in 2008 where it fought its way to semi-finals. They recorded many CD´s for Arta records, Adda Stefanotis, Belaphon, or Czech radio, Radio New York Times and other radio associations in Paris, Stockholm and Köln upon Rheine.

The founder of Doležal's quartet, a violist and professor Karel Doležal, passed the quartet's name in 2003 on to the young rising generation of artists. They want to continue in the traditions of Czech Quartet School, but they try to find new projects, which they introduced us on the inaugural concert in the cycle of chamber music by Symphonic orchestra of Prague FOK. In the early future they will produce new CD.
